"RAZRBACK"

A truly unique hand made car. The RAZRBACK changed the way street rods looked after its debut in 1999. With its slammed stance, big one-off wheels, curved glass and the all important "good taste factor", this car changed all the rules for what a well proportioned, tastefully designed Hot Rod should look like.

another "must have" that followed RAZRBACK'S debut, for all high end rods, was natural looking curved glass.

A tastefully restyled roof, changed the way hot rod builders looked at "chopping" tops. A removable targa style roof panel, gives the white leather interior, a bright and airy look. The custom shaped dash panel and console fit RAZRBACKS theme. Custom made trim, support the look of the stone shields, which also protect the body from the side exit exhaust.

The bright white connely leather wraps the interior, and the one-off Tea's Design Seats. All of the upholstery and trim was done in house..

The chassis is equally impressive, it boasts a fully adjustable air ride suspension, all billet rear end housing and a/arms, fully formed frame rails, a rare ZR-1 corvette LT-5 engine, and a 6 spd manual trans.

Here is a picture of Rob Ida with his father Bob, and actor and comedian Christopher Titus. Christopher and his Car agent Chip Foose, invited us, and two of our cars to appear on his FOX television show "TITUS" in Hollywood.

being one of the first street rods to use air ride suspension, really made the debut of RAZRBACK an exciting one. Notice the rshaped fenders, roof and hoodline. The profile is still recognizable as a Willys coupe, but a much more refined version.

The c-class benz headlight treatment sure caught on, on;y on this car, you can't even feel the edge. If you close your eyes, and run your finger over the headlight, you can't tell where the fender ends, and the lens begins.. They have also been cutdown to the apprpriate shape to look like they belong to the car, and not "borrowed".

Another trendsetting element of this car is the creative design by Bob Ida, with the one-off lugless billet wheels. The tool path from the CNC machine was planned out and CAD drawn so well, the final cut was the finished design. No other polishing or hand work was ever done to the wheel. It came off the machine, and went right on the car.

The chassis is equally impressive. The frame rails are formed of 3/16 mild steel, with tubular cross members, and double wall pass-throughs for the side exit exhaust. the all billet rear end housing, and front suspension, detail the orange powder coating. a ZF 6 spd trans and LT-5 engine are detailed and installed, complete with aluminum driveshaft, and air-ride suspension.
