2001 Mustang Road Race car

Proffesionally prepared race car for NASA or SCCA type road racing. This car has everything, and is is race ready condition.

The build was started using a very nice, clean and straight 2001 Ford Mustang GT.

Chassis and Suspension:

A 6 point rall cage was installed and is properly fitted, gusseted and welded. The installation is as neat as a pin, and is well fitted to the ineterior. The frame is stiffened with tubular cross memebers , and a GRIGGS RACING stiffening set up with sub frame connectors. The Front suspension is also from Griggs Racing.

The front suspension consists of a tubular k member, tubular a arms, sway bar, Koni adjustablestruts, billet aluminumcaster camber plates.

The rear suspension is also from Griggs racing, It consists of a Watts link system, Torque arm, lower control arms, and Koni coilovers.

Brakes are Baer brakes in Front and Rear with Hawk racing pads.

Suspension components are rigid mounted with Heim joints.

Engine and Driveline:

4.6l SOHC engine with a bullit intake, Cobra crank, custom built heads, Canton Oil pan, headers, Accufab throttle body. The engine is fresh and makes 310 HP at the rear wheels. the engine is built with low compression specifically for adding a supercharger. The engine runs perfect, sounds great, and has no leaks.

transmission is a T56 5 speed, fresh, and has a centerforce clutch.

Fuel injection system is tuned perfectly, and shows a perfect A/F ratio on dyno.

cooling system is an aluminum Fluidyne radiator.

Interior:

Seats are Sparco Pro 2000 seats, with Sparco five point harness in both driver and passenger sides. Momo removable steering wheel, Steeda short throw shifter and Steeda pedals. Longacre Hot Lap lap timer and transponder, camera mount, fire extinguisher, Air bags removed, Window net, Convex rear view racing mirror.

A/C, Mach 40 stereo with CD, PW, PL all still working and in tact.

Wheels Tires:

wheels are Cobra R 17" with Toyo Proxes RA1 racing tires.

Body is clean, straigh and perfect. The paint has on touch up, that is very minor. the front bumper is Cobra R.

If you are looking for a well built, ready to go, dedicated track car, this is it. You could not have this car built for twice this price.

I drove it at Maxton's Monster mile Land speed racing event, and went 148 MPH in my one and only run up against a 150 MPH record.

I also drove it at Watkins Glen, and the car was perfect. a real pleasure to drive.
